HOW CAN I START WORKING WITH YOU?

During this initial consultation, I will get a better idea of what questions you are hoping to get answered and if a psychoeducational assessment or behavioural support is a good fit for your child and your family.

WHAT IS THE COST OF A PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT?
Fees are set in accordance with the recommended fee schedule of the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta ($220/hour).

The number of hours will depend on the type of assessment required; however, a comprehensive psycho-educational assessment typically takes between 10-15 hours (including an intake interview, brief teacher or informant interview, 5-6 hours of in-person testing, scoring and clinical interpretation, feedback meeting and a comprehensive report with recommendations). The cost of a full psychoeducational assessment is $2850.

INSURANCE AND EXTENDED HEALTH BENEFITS:

I am flexible with payment options and will do my best to optimize your insurance (if any) and find a payment schedule that works best for you and your family.

Please check with your extended health insurance plans regarding the coverage of psychological services as fees may be fully or partially covered. When not reimbursed by insurance, the fees for psychological services might be considered for an allowable medical expense for the purpose of income tax deductions.

Is there a maximum hourly fee that my plan covers? (Note: fees not covered by your benefits plan may be eligible as a tax deductible medical expense)

Does my plan have a daily limit on psychological services? (For example, if I meet with the psychologist for three hours one afternoon, will my plan cover the multiple hours or will my coverage pay for one hour per day maximum?)

Does my plan cover only one-on-one direct service, or are all psychological services such as report writing covered?

Clients will be billed directly for services rendered and a detailed invoice will be provided to submit for reimbursement.

TAX DEDUCTIONS:
Fees paid for psychological services may qualify as a medical expense for income tax purposes.

WHAT IS THE COST OF A WESTMOUNT CHARTER OR GATE ASSESSMENT?
The appointment is billed at an hourly rate of $220. The cost of the assessment may be covered partially, or in full, by your insurance provider. Please check with your insurance provider directly about coverage. The costs associated with a gifted assessment are:

Westmount Charter School Eligibility Assessment: $1100 (cognitive assessment only)
GATE Program Eligibility Assessment: $1650 (includes both cognitive and academic assessment)
ARE ASSESSMENT SESSIONS IN-PERSON?
While intake and feedback meetings are conducted online, testing sessions are completed in-person. In-person testing sessions are conducted in the morning from 9:00am-12:00pm and in the afternoon from 1-4pm (you will be able to schedule a time that works best for your child and your family).

The office is located in Marda Loop. Testing sessions are 2-2.5 hours in length. You are welcome to drop off your child and come back at the end of the testing session.
